In an attempt to 'open up' Europe to UK mountain bikers, Ride the World offers a seven night package to the Austrian resort of Mayrhofen and its surrounding attractions. Mayrhofen is located deep in the beautiful Austrian Alps and offers miles and miles of challenging singletrack from your doorstep. It is the main resort town in the Tirol valley area and provides a fantastic location, close to nature but with plenty of shops and bars to keep you amused when the sun goes down. The scenery is spectacular with fresh mountain lakes, snow capped peaks and lush forests offering up some of the best trails in the European Alps. This is a crosscountry/ trail riding holiday but we utilise the local gondola uplift network to make the most of the terrain and provide you with some unforgettable rides. From the top of the cable cars, we will ride further and higher into the mountains to some of the most breathtaking scenery in the European Alps. This guarantees that every day ends in a monumental down hill back to the guest house.

Itinerary

Eight Day itinerary:

Day 1 - Arrival day
Arrive at Salzburg airport and transfer to Mayrhofen in time to meet the RTW staff and settle into our guest house before the first day's riding.

Day 2 - Ride day
Your first ride in the Austrian Alps. We will take the gondola into the mountains above Mayrhofen and start the ride with a few thousand feet to our advantage, allowing us to make the most of the terrain on offer. We will then climb further and higher into the mountains to some of the most breathtaking scenery in the European Alps and get stuck into to the excellent singletrack. The extra altitude will then let us end the day with a monumental descent back to the guest house.

Day 3 - Ride day
Ride number two, once again utilising the gondola uplift to reach some stunning scenery and fantastic trails high above Mayrhofen.

Day 4 - Day off
Relax in the local swimming baths, take a look around the local area or hop back on the gondolas for more riding or even a bit of hiking.

Day 5 - Ride day
Ride number three. Another local favourite and a ride you'll never forget with more amazing scenery and awesome singletrack. Don't forget your camera!

Day 6 - Ride day
Ride number four. We'll take you on the best ride of the week to truly round off a holiday to remember.

Day 7 - Ride day / Day off
Your last chance to have a look round the local area with your transport pass, or retrace your favourite ride.

Day 8 - Departure day
Transfer to Salzburg airport

Accommodation Details

7 nights accommodation is included in the holiday price with single sex shared rooms for up to three single travellers or small groups. Single room supplements are also available upon request at the time of booking.
