Itinerary / Highlights

Ebensee is a small market town situated on the southern shores of Lake Traunsee in the famous Salzkammergut region. Our cycle routes here will take you through a variety of spectacular scenery, following lakeside paths to the towns of Gmunden and Bad Ischl. A beautiful forest track leads to Langbathsee, one of the prettiest lakes in Austria, with it's stunning mountain backdrop it is often used as a setting for TV adverts and films.

Obertraun, UNESCO World Heritage area is located in the heart of the Salzkammergut on the shores of Lake Hallstatt, only 4km from the infamous village of Hallstatt. Obertraun is a tranquil, unspoilt holiday destination, ideal for families to tour the cultural local area by bike along the many enchanting paths leading around the lake, past rivers and mountains.

For your first three nights you will be staying at Haus Rosenhof, set in a peaceful location about a mile outside the village with hosts Angie and David Gilbert. Haus Rosenhof is a recently built guest house with traditional Austrian styling and the added benefit of modern facilities. After a day out exploring the area, return to Haus Rosenhof and relax with a glass of wine in our garden, surrounded by wonderful mountain views, before enjoying a hearty home cooked dinner.

Haus Hepi is a quaint, newly refurbished property offering comfortable, guesthouse accommodation in a friendly atmosphere. The house is located in an elevated position on the edge of the Sarstein forest and only a few minutes walk from the village centre and Lake Hallstatt. Your hosts Larry and Lisa Hepi are professionally qualified caterers and are experienced in delivering top quality products and services to guests in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Our food is based on classical cuisine with a variety of modern influences making use, wherever possible, of seasonal and local produce.

Haus Ausseerland dates back approximately 150 years and has been refurbished to a very high standard in 2005, combining modern luxuries with the warm, cosy character of a traditional Austrian property. Your final hosts, Paul and his team from England have a vast personal knowledge of the region, having owned the property for some 20 years.

A menu of culinary delights from Asia and Europe has been prepared offering a wonderful variation of food every evening during your stay. There is simply no better way to end the day than sitting down to enjoy a gourmet meal accompanied by complimentary wine from our list of fine wines.
