The mountain biking in and around Morzine and Les Gets is widely regarded as the best in the world.. Les Gets has hosted many world class bike events, including numerous World Cup rounds and the 2004 World Championships, and offers an excellent range of bike facilities and trails which are suited to all levels of rider. Every Year the region attracts many world class riders who also appreciate the easy access to the vast number of breathtaking descents, the likes of which cannot be experienced anywhere else in Europe.
The Portes du Soleil resort also has the largest area of bike trails and the biggest network of ski lifts open to bikers in Europe. The resort is ideal for Downhillers and Freeriders with many dedicated, man made courses, as well as natural descents, jump parks, North-Shore style ladders, 4X courses and even a foam pit; perfect for perfecting those 360s. The cross country riders among you will be pleased to know that the resort also boasts over 100 kilometres of single track and fire road descents.

The sheer number of trails mean that riders of all standards can have a varied and greatly enjoyable time on the their bikes. Beginners can start with the now legendary ‘grass track’, which is a firm favourite of both first-timers and experienced Downhillers, and progress to the harder descents such as the avalanche cup course. All the major courses contain ‘easier routes’ for riders who wish to avoid the more dangerous and challenging sections of the run. Riders of any standard will improve over their stay.
The XC trails are also ideal for beginners and of course there are more advanced technical trails.. The abundance of well linked trails means a day ride can venture as far as Switzerland and back again.
